-20* and Yes, We Use a Snowflake for the Degree Icon When It's Cold...

For the last few days and weeks I've been practising my skills off slapping every possible surface with PNGs, the abbreviation of my first and few Persona non grata stickers. So last week we had a somewhat "exclusive" printout of 30 brand new PNG slaps and a cutout of 10 of my new "under" stickers. Obviously - we had to take them around the town.

And now for the new stuff. I think it was early January when I stumbled across this fine idea of bypassing some of my printing problems of stickers. A cutout slap, presenting a thought I've been meddling around since the very start of [bli:p]'s.

The legend goes - The question of depth and it's weird paranormal nature has always occurred to me as a very interesting thing to experiment with. I men - depth is everything [bli:p] was, is and will be about - the trick of any art-piece that makes you question your and the artist's perception. And this - the latest social experiment of the street artist of censorship brings us closer to this matter more than ever. What is there under the thin paper on the wall? Is it just the concrete or is there an idea to be searched for? Is it your mind, reflectioned from the material or is it mine shining through it? How deep should we search? And what lies beyond?

And whilst sorting out my folders earlier today I found this pic from early September. The wheatpasting enbombment of neighbourhood houses and billboards. Fun times.

It feels good to finally be back on track (somewhat) and get some of my work out on the streets. Still got to do my new stencils though...

Cheers.

You Could Have It So Much Better (2005)

I've heard people saying that jazz does not kill depression, but effectively sweeps it in the corners of any room it's being played in. And to be honest with you - I can't find a better way of describing any kind of music.
Gorillaz, Black Keys, White Stripes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather, Doors, Kasabian, Dub fx, Kills. I could go on for miles. Miles and miles of life-changing experiences literally hyper-linking to every single digitally arranged note coming out of my iPod. A decent music gets you out of any problem in life. And that is the truth. Because within music lies not only the experience of getting away of your troubles, but an essential energy needed for me to start the day. Talk about coffee? Hell, we've got Handsome Furs tearing the roof off. And we've awoken.
I've always thought that expressing yourself matters the most. And I've been pressed down by the lack of confidence or laziness, but the moment when somebody out there appreciates your work simply takes everything in a whole different level. And to express yourself in any possible way - whether it's music, rhythm, lyrics, poetry, art or anything you do that makes you feel better and makes others feel good too, is just what gets us forward in life. Music being one of the key factors for me... I mean - it's the complete concatenation of words, rhythm and melody that not only makes you imagine stuff like you would do when reading, but presents a live packet of already born emotions and thoughts right to you. And yet it still leaves space for your own interpretation of the heard packet. I mean - it's a gateway to everything I feel good about in life.

This is my message in a bottle for my children, their children and the many generations there will be. Learn to truly LOVE music, to cherish every single note of a masterpiece that has come into your hands. Because, as stated by Kurt Vonnegut, THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC.

Remember this, lads.

The Problem

A very common phrase to be heard when you end up fighting about something with someone is that the world does not evolve around you. As frustrating and shut-upping as it may be the first times it breaks the conversation, this statement is the biggest pile of shit I've ever heard. Let's see what's on the inside.

So first of all the world you see around you is not real. The trees, street lamps, houses, even you very own computer screen is there because you see it. It is there because you are there. If we were completely numb and our senses would've completely gone - for instance, we couldn't nor see, hear, feel, taste or smell anything around us. How real would our world be then? How would we ever know that something around us exists? I mean - our world is purely in us - our perception, thus our world lies within the way we've shaped ourselves during the past years to feel the stuff around us. That is just how the world works.
To step back a bit from this question, let's take a look at the basic build of a problem. Say, your car has broken down in the middle of the road. So now there are a few options for you to do in order to fix this problem - you might want to call to get yourself home, you might want to call and get the car evacuated or you might want to take the bus to your destination you were driving or basically any other option you might think of in the world. And now hear me out - wouldn't it be only logical not to deal with the genesis of the problem rather than trying to deal with anything else? I mean - wouldn't it be only logical to put all your efforts into fixing the car rather than dealing with the lower end of this problem by going home or taking a bus, because only by solving out the genesis of the problem you might find your way further by the same means as you were before the issue happened at all.
So back to our matter. Taking our newborn idea model, let's see what good comes to us within the issue we looked at before. Obviously, the only genesis of the question is you. And now everything the human race has ever done seems pretty meaningless, doesn't it? To acquire a new car, a new house, buying or working for anything in the world around us just seems useless, because that most definitely is the lower end of getting it. The only way to actually deal with any kind of problem or question in the world is to change the course of your own mind. And it all breaks down to getting purely smarter. Reading more, watching more movies, getting to know the world around you better and better so it would finally start affecting you, your ideas and ideals. And as what philosophy is all about - a certain point where the material world comes useless to you. Isn't that the most beautiful target to reach for in life?

Because in the end - the world does evolve around you.

Cheers.

Winternap

Let's say something about the current weather outside. I can't stand the mess outside.

Not only does winter withholds me from doing physical activities every day. And by that I mean my wonderful activity of choice – skateboarding. In any other type of year I’d just grab a sweater or anything that would suffice the weather outside and go out. Now it’s snowing. Obviously that kills everything about the get&go charm of this thing.
Another hilarity that actually affects you and your interest in street art is my graffiti productivity. I had rambled a lot about how snow holds me inside, leaving me piling ideas and ideas of [bli:p]. Or more of it seemed like that. Now that the real winter has kicked in all I want to do is lay around and do nothing. The weather is just pressing me down to the ground. The gray mess out there is just annoying to me - obviously it doesn't hold me from bombing the streets or sitting down and writing a blog like I'm doing right now, but what does a street artist post if he can't produce anything? I don't mean to say that I'm always eager to force myself into things, but winter certainly kills some parts of my creativity. Maybe it's in the fact that I do see less of the world around me. Sure, internet is a freaking gateway to life and the many aspects of it, but the real deal is the real life feelings that transforms your thoughts into brand new ideas to delight your readers with. And it's freaking cold outside. I can't stand being cold. I have had some certain parts of my enjoyable little memories happening in winter, but those only pop up the first time I open my window and feel the cold breeze and the scent of winter. Or maybe the first time I touch the snow, shining in the morning sun. But all of the other times I open my window is to check whether the asphalt is dry or not. At least then I can step outside on my board, wearing two shirts a sweater and some gloves. Fun times.
Not to make this a rambling blog that gets you down - there are a few things I love about winter. Like the really, really cold days when the sky turns so blue there's not a single cloud in sight. When the snow crackles below your boots and you can see your breath. Or the first time you open your eyes and everything is white around you. Those few things are pretty awesome. But as we all now - that occurs so so rarely the greyness gets you down a lot faster.

Too bad we can't winter sleep. Or at least winter nap.

Cheers!

Logos and Impudence

And after such an emotional tribute to the inner world and feeling, it would be only wise to start posting stuff already before my why (and with it my will) passes away. So as I already stated in the last blogpost of 2011, I've got a piece in my repertoire that might shock you with it's awesome [bli:p]-iness, yet still being awesomely innovative to our current pasting style and setup This, ladies and gentlemen, is the 'stick in their faces'.
It was a cold, dark morning. A light breeze flew through her coat, shaking up her to bare bones. It was autumn. And it was full of leaves. Grabbing her broom in one hand she ventured out into the city before everybody - it seemed that the town was barely inhabited at this early hour. Making her way through the allies, brushing away her thoughts and dirt from the pavement, she suddenly felt a chill and stopped to look around. And then she saw it. Still wet, sticky from the wallpaper glue, a piece of paper was attached to the wall near her, staring to her in pure laughter. The broom lost contact with her hand and hit the pavement, waking up the neighborhood dogs. She stormed to the wall, no second thoughts, ripping the wet paper in joy. Thrown in the bin - there it was... Where it belonged. She bent to reach for the brush, buttoned back up her coat and threw her last glimpse at the fortunate sight of making her city's walls more cultural. And believe it or not... Spray paint. On the very same spot. "Bah, vandals," she murmured and made her way further into the waking city streets.

Another very pleasing thing happening today was my logo-lising of [bli:p]'s - a matter I've been struggling for years was finally put down on paper and made into a digitally convertible artwork. You see - from the very beginning of this project there was a doubt of how to visualize the [bli:p] I had created. Sure - we had our tag which would be later put under everything we did, but we needed something visual to hang on to. Notebooks of drawings and a whole year to produce - this is truly magnificent both for me and, hopefully, you.

So that was a thing. As well as producing a small ''piece of [bli:p]s" earlier today which you've probably already seen. I certainly don't want to make this cheesy, so I won't be making this thing a series or making sidebar like I've done with all of the other articles, so let this stay as your search'n'find emotional piece of my blog. You know - for those only who truly love to think, produce and love.

And now I'm done. I believe in a good way of starting a year.

Cheers.

Reach Out And Touch Someone

The time has come to pronounce the be-ing of the being. It is time to finally understand the soul and the correct place where to put it. And although it's true that there is no wrong answer for this... There is only one truly correct one to you and your matter. Living with this question through all of our lives, we remain alive. We remain searching for the right answer and for the right question. And our souls remain searching with us. And as I am saying this, I'm skipping past right and wrong and good and bad. I'm putting myself behind being correct. I'm saying this from the heart.

To be understood has always been an important matter for me. To be able to find people thinking alike myself. To be able to think and to write my thoughts down. And now - to be able to put my thoughts out on the wall. That mattered to me when I started this - the point when you received a comment below your picture, saying ''Man, I couldn't agree more." The thread of a thought, the thread of an idea passing through people that unites them. And I have no idea whether this is what I'm actually searching for in life or if it's just a feeling of the glimpse, but I don't know any other better feeling than to be with somebody not just physically, but morally. To be joined by a certain factor in life, by your perception, beliefs, ideas and thoughts. To be joined by your realities. And maybe this is too late or too early to pronounce, but YOU are the one driving this. You as in Me and You as in my perception of the world around me. My longings to find you who could understand my works. Because my works are my thoughts. And my thoughts are me. And although there might be none of you who will actually read this with their souls put out to understand me, I guess it's worth a shot more than anything in life. This whole thing is worth a shot. [bli:p] is worth a shot. A shot to light the darkness, a shot to light and to unite. A shot to dream.
